Welcome to the President's page

Our President is Margaret Bradley - here's a summary of her musical background:

Margaret was born in Birley Carr and is a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, where she is Choirmistress. Always interested in singing, she had voice training from the age of 15 and took part in many music festivals.

In her younger days she was a member of High Green Operatic Society, Thorncliffe Musical Society and the Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus, as well as taking leading parts in many of the Gilbert & Sullivan operas at Birley Carr.

She has sung the soprano solos in Haydn's 'Creation', Mendelssohn's 'Elijah' and 'Hymn of Praise' and Handel's 'Messiah'. She also conducted the 'Messiah' at Birley Carr for a number of years.

Her association with the Grenoside Male Voice Choir goes back over 50 years, when she started helping with the Christmas Carol Concert. She attended most of the choir's concerts and was frequently a guest soloist. She still enjoys singing and is a founder member of the Grenoside Singers.
